  1. Am I happy about who won? Not really but I do think that Ben will use the money to better himself and not waste it. I did love his reaction.

    2. How sad am I to have read this before seeing the final show - I spent the whole time hearing what Ben was saying [ especially about Estelle ] and wondering "why"? Am I missing something? He contributed to the show, but was it in a pleasant way? Does this mean that if you can be nasty, pick on someone and make fun of them - you then deserve to win?
Love the series, but its been a sad ending for me.

    3. Im not saying he should of won at all, i didnt like his behavior one bit. But apparently the at least 40% of the public voters thought so.

  2. Looks like lots of people were bamboozled yesterday. Ben? Horrible man.

  3. Yeh it wasn't sweet it was sour. I didn't like Ben or Layla beforehand that much but in the last days and at the finale it soured it even more. Why couldn't they have shown more respect to Estelle? She survived all those evictions and certainly deserved to be treated like she had a right to be there.

Revealing the faces a few days ago must have cost Estelle at least second place, which I think she deserved at least being one of the few people that didn't just follow Ben's wishes. I still don't really see the point of Layla in this series, as the showmances were just a sideshow to me. Ben did have a point being there, but villains aren't really meant to win.

I thought it was a weak series redeemed by only a few points and this was probably an appropriate ending. But somehow there was always the hope right to the end that maybe the final result might just make up for it, but really Big Brother needs a consistently interesting cast to be great and I don't think this ever had it anyway.

The chat crashed for me earlier and I couldn't get back, that's why I went suddenly. I didn't watch it to the end as Ben was annoying me too much, from what I've heard he didn't improve. It sounds like the tag of being the first gay winner may have helped him win, though some undoubtedly voted for him as being a kind of anti-hero as well. But as his opposition in this series was so weak aside from a very few people I don't think he was that amazing. And certainly he needs to learn to be more gracious, when the voting has stopped you don't have to act like a douche anymore to please your fans.

    1. I do so agree with your comments - and have thru most of the series!
I found it so difficult watching Ben and Layla making remarks about Estelle right till the end. I have supported Layla for some weeks, as well as Estelle, but Layla's behaviour lately ....I think it lost her the crown.
I wonder if Josh had still been there if the outcome would have been different?

  4. I want to say to Doc, a big thanks for having this site available to watch the episodes and a place for us to post and discuss the series with respectful fans. And thanks to all for your wonderful posts. I enjoyed reading each and every one, regardless if we agreed or not.

I was disappointed that Ben won, but life goes on and glad that BBAU has returned. The finale was WAY too long with too much filler. The finale could have easily been cut down to 90 minutes. Sonia was a so-so host. If she is back next season, I hope she improves. The series had its flaws, and I hope that the producers fix them. Here are a few. The weekly shopping tasks for this season were not that good. That definitely needs improvement. Let us hope that production gets rid of the Confidential and Little Sister shows, as they added nothing and were a total waste of time. Give the fans a UK BOTS type of show, in the later evening hours, where past housemates and critics can discuss the episode and the series with more than PG stuff. It would add a lot to the series. Give the fans a one hour show on Friday instead of a 30 minute one.

Now to give production some credit. I will say that the way the nominations were structured with the points system, the nominations room and soundproof chamber, the superpower, and Big Brother being extremely tough with the housemates with reasons for nominating, was excellent. And above all, hats off to production for strictly enforcing the rules of the game, especially discussion of nominations. Those of us who followed the past BBUK season saw what happens when production is soft with punishments and enforcing the rules.

I do not know about all of you, but I am ready for a Big Brother break. I know that Doc is ready for a break! :)

See all of you when the UK Celebrity Big Brother and Big Brother Canada starts! Take care of yourselves!

    1. They weren't that tough with enforcing reasons for nominations. One of Ben's nominations for Sam was that he was too sweet.

And I suspect they didn't enforce the rules banning discussions of nominations that much anyway, nobody was about to be given 3 strikes for it. And of course there is no live stream to show they were actually that tough on it too.

    2. Ditto, MisterMac!! See you next year! :)

    3. I don't think Big Brother was that tough on nominations. He seemsed a lot tougher in BBAU 2006, where housemates had a two minute time limit and it was hard to get Big Brother to accept ur nomination. He would always be like, "Be specific, you're holding back," to nearly everyone.

Unfortunately, Nine can't make a one hour Big Brother episode on Friday because Nine has sport at 7:30 on Friday. :(
That's why there's no Friday Night Live.

But I definitely agree to getting rid of Confidential and Little Sister. And I think they should stick with nominating in the Diary Room. It would save money and I prefer it that way.

The first episode of Confidential that was M rated or something was actually what viewers were looking for. And then Nine changed it to PG, and it became more of an insider show.

Hopefully Nine doesn't get complacent and thinks that because this year's Big Brother was successful, nothing had to be changed.

  5. Hmm the thumbnail spoiled it AGAIN, and AGAIN I say it could have been posted as a link.

But yeah, abysmal housemate for an abysmal series. I wish the show wasn't edited with silly music and censored to high heavans. :(

    1. That same thumbnail wouldn't have been visible on a link, as well. It isn't what Doc does. It is what youtube, or any of the others like it, does. The person uploading the vids has no control over that.

    2. The person uploading has a choice of 3 different thumbnails, but that isn't the point - to not spoil people who come onto the blog, it could have been put down just as a link

Thanks Doc and ermmmmmm and anyone else who put this site together.

    1. It was a good series, warts and all. Glad that BBAU is back after so many years. I did not like the winner, and he should have been gone when he threw water in Bradley's face. But life goes on. I am keeping the faith there is a more likeable winner next season.

    2. Oh, the time when he threw water at Bradley. I thought it was a joke until he confronted Bradley. He nearly was evicted that time. That was when I was still supporting Benjamin.

  7. Now THAT, my friends, is how a finale should be done!

  8. Thank you so much for posting the whole series. This is the first time I've watched BBAU (I'm from the UK) and I absolutely loved it. I especially like how positive the Australian audience are compared to UK Live audiences, which can get really nasty for very little reason.

Thanks to all who go to the trouble of providing the show for us every day =)

  9. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy was jumping around my living room like a loon!! The thing with Ben was that love him or hate him, you had an opinion, he made you feel SOMETHING, even if that something was hate, he evoked a response from you, unlike the other wall flowers in there he had something to say and he said it LOUD. Warts and all, evil and angelic, he was fifty shades of awesome rolled into one. He was HUMAN. God knows he had faults, we all do, nobody is perfect but he had that certain something that made me not want to stop watching him.
    I'm gonna miss him!!
Thanks Doc for giving me a place to vent, laugh and debate. Much love!

    1. It must've been great for you when he won. Maybe my favourite will win next year...

Yeah, I didn't mind who won tonight, so didn't really feel any emotion when Benjamin won. I was just like oh, Benjamin won.

Ben is a more deserving winner than some of them who we didn't even notice or who were just boring like Ava.

Favourites for this season included Sarah, Angie, Josh and Michael.

  11. Best finale show I've seen. I was rooting for Estelle, but I was happy with whoever, they were all nice :) No one's perfect and they were all great people!

Thanks, Doc, for all the uploads and for giving me my first Big Brother Australia experience. I realized, that BB AUS is the best BB around :)
